LeapXpert and Cisco Systems have integrated governed WhatsApp messaging into the Webex collaboration platform. This solution allows employees to communicate with clients on WhatsApp directly through Webex without requiring additional logins, while ensuring all messages are archived and monitored for compliance.

The integration is currently available via the Webex App Hub for users with both a Webex license and a Leap Work account. The companies are showcasing the technology at the WebexOne conference in Austin, Texas, which runs through Thursday.

Webex is currently utilized by approximately 300,000 organizations, including nearly all Fortune 500 companies. LeapXpert previously implemented similar integrations for Microsoft Teams and Slack, and launched its own chat application, Maxen, in 2024 to provide generative AI insights from client interactions.

This partnership follows a $180 million growth funding round raised by the New York-based startup three months ago, led by Riverwood Capital with participation from Portage Ventures. The capital is intended to support expansion into government and financial services sectors, where clients like Lloyds Bank and SoftBank already operate.
