Kunlun Wanwei has introduced Matrix-Game 4.0, which the company describes as the first video large model game capable of running on a single consumer-grade graphics card. The project has been released as open source to facilitate game prototyping and user-generated content development.
The system utilizes a game engine to manage world states and interaction rules, while a video generation model handles real-time visual rendering. It achieves a performance of 480p at 60 FPS when running on an NVIDIA RTX 5090 graphics card, with input latency maintained below 150 milliseconds.
The development team has outlined a roadmap for future iterations of the model. Planned updates include the deployment of a refiner to increase visual resolution, the implementation of multi-player consistency across different perspectives, and the expansion of support for a wider variety of game genres and scenarios.
