The developer successfully ported Kubuntu to the Lenovo Tab M11, replacing the standard Android environment with a Linux-based system. The setup utilizes the device's original MediaTek GKI kernel and BSP while running a standard Ubuntu rootfs on the internal storage.

Graphics are handled by the Panfrost driver and KWin via DRM/KMS, bypassing the Android graphical stack. Other hardware components, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and audio, are managed by standard Linux tools like NetworkManager, BlueZ, and PipeWire, with custom bridges used to interface with Android HAL and Binder services.

The system supports advanced features such as stylus input with pressure and tilt sensitivity, as well as camera functionality. The rear camera supports RAW capture and 1080p/30fps video, exposed to Linux applications via V4L2 interfaces. A custom Flutter application manages camera controls.

To maintain hardware compatibility, the project implements a custom init process and a service manager named Rediska, which handles Android properties and IPC. The system also includes a charger mode and supports suspend/resume functionality, despite specific challenges posed by MediaTek hardware power management.
