Komprise Inc. has launched the Universal File MCP tool to provide a single interface for AI agents to access enterprise data. This solution aims to address the issue of MCP bloat, where an excess of dedicated MCP servers leads to reduced performance, lower accuracy, and increased token consumption for AI models.
According to a McKinsey Co. study, nearly 60% of agentic token consumption is attributed to response refinement loops. The new tool from Komprise mitigates these costs by filtering irrelevant data and ensuring that only essential, context-enriched information is delivered to AI agents based on user-specific access permissions.
The system utilizes the Komprise Global Metadatabase to maintain a consistent schema across various storage environments, including cloud, object, and network-attached storage. It also incorporates the AI Preparation & Process Automation tool to extract contextual metadata and filter out noise before processing.
The Universal File MCP is designed to function with any data source, regardless of whether it is managed by Komprise. By providing a unified interface, the company enables use cases such as targeted image retrieval for clinicians or compliance monitoring for information security professionals.
