Turkish manufacturer Karsan has won a tender from Milan's public transport operator ATM to supply 110 electric buses. The contract, valued at approximately €76 million, covers vehicle delivery, a ten-year maintenance period, and future battery replacements. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in late 2027.

The order consists of 80 urban low-floor buses with three doors for ATM and 30 intercity low-floor buses with two doors for the subsidiary NET. The first batch of 34 vehicles will be split between Milan and Monza. The deal is being executed through the Italian dealer Kmobility.

ATM aims to transition its entire fleet to electric power by 2030, targeting a total of 1,200 electric buses. The company is currently upgrading existing depots in San Donato, Sarca, Giambellino, and Palmanova to support electric operations, alongside plans for new facility construction.

Italy has become the leading European market for externally chargeable buses, surpassing the United Kingdom this year according to ACEA data. The Italian bus market is currently the largest in the European Union across all drive types.
