The Justin Sun Prize is a new decentralized academic initiative that rewards breakthroughs in fundamental sciences and machine formal verification. The program offers up to $1 million for solving a single mathematical problem from a curated list, with no traditional nomination or credential requirements.

OpenAI received the inaugural top prize of $1 million for providing a formalized proof of the existence and smoothness of the three-dimensional Navier–Stokes equations. The proof was generated by an internal model and verified using GPT-6 Astra.

The prize operates on principles of openness and public benefit, with all proofs and verification materials published on GitHub. Payments are issued in USDT on TRON or USDC on Ethereum, with records stored on-chain for immutability.

The current problem list includes the Poincaré Conjecture, the Riemann Hypothesis, and Goldbach’s Conjecture. Justin Sun, who has donated over $45 million to various causes, intends for this initiative to become a long-term focus of his philanthropic efforts.
