German manufacturer Jungheinrich has launched its new EFG M series of electric counterbalance forklifts specifically for the Asia-Pacific market. The lineup includes the three-wheel EFG MB model, which handles loads between 1.6 and 2.0 tonnes, and the four-wheel EFG MC model, designed for loads ranging from 2.0 to 3.0 tonnes. These machines can reach lifting heights of up to 6,500 mm.
The series offers two performance configurations: efficiencyPLUS for balanced energy use and drive&liftPLUS for high-throughput tasks, which comes standard on models with 2.5 to 3.0 tonnes capacity. Customers can select between lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries with capacities from 346 to 690 Ah. The manufacturer claims that integrated energy recovery during braking can reduce energy costs by up to 30 per cent per shift.
Jungheinrich currently operates eight direct sales units and works with partners in over 14 countries across the APAC region. The company maintains a global service network of more than 6,100 technicians. Production for the region is supported by the Qingpu plant near Shanghai, which marked its 20th anniversary in 2026.
Beyond the EFG M series, the company is testing sodium-ion batteries in industrial trucks to evaluate their performance. Jungheinrich also plans to electrify its global service fleet, aiming to transition more than 3,500 vehicles to electric power by 2030, which would account for half of its total service fleet.
