JPMorgan Chase is extending the reach of its JPM Coin deposit token by integrating it with the Ethereum network. This move aims to facilitate payments and the settlement of tokenized asset transactions for the bank's institutional clients.

The JPM Coin functions as a digital representation of US dollar deposits held by the bank, enabling round-the-clock fund transfers. According to Emma Landriault, global head of Kinexys Labs, the token serves crypto firms for blockchain payments and financial institutions for trade settlement and collateral management.

The bank selected Ethereum due to its liquidity and established client adoption. Despite operating on a public blockchain, the use of JPM Coin remains strictly limited to approved institutional participants.

This expansion follows the bank's previous deployment of JPM Coin on the Base network in November 2025. Additionally, JPMorgan previously announced plans to integrate the token with the Canton Network in January.
