Developer @none25smu has successfully ported iPadOS 26 to the Microsoft Surface Duo 2. The project is currently in its early development phase, but it has already achieved dual-screen functionality and made progress in hardware acceleration.
Recent updates show that both screens of the Surface Duo 2 now achieve a frame rate of 37 FPS. This is a significant improvement compared to the previous performance, which ranged between 3 and 10 FPS.
The developer is using a damaged Surface Duo 2 unit for these experiments. Future plans include simulating the Microsoft Surface Pen to function as an Apple Pencil, as well as porting iOS to the original Surface Duo and iPadOS 27 to the Surface Duo 2.
