Apple is scheduled to host a special event titled Pro and Tell on October 28. The company plans to introduce new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models during this presentation, marking a significant shift in its product strategy.

The upcoming laptops will feature OLED touchscreens, a first for the Mac lineup. Apple intends to utilize tandem OLED technology, similar to that found in the iPad Pro, to balance brightness, power efficiency, and display longevity.

The design will replace the traditional notch with a Dynamic Island interface. While the overall chassis retains the existing design language, the weight of the devices is expected to be reduced.

Internally, the new MacBook Pro models will be powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. The macOS Golden Gate operating system has been optimized to support touch input, allowing for dynamic interface adjustments.

Due to the higher costs of OLED panels, the starting prices for the new models may increase by up to $500 compared to current versions, which start at $2499 and $2999 respectively.

Apple will continue to sell existing mini-LED MacBook Pro models alongside the new devices for a period of time. The company maintains that the keyboard and trackpad remain the primary input methods.
