Copenhagen-based startup Interhuman AI is developing Social Intelligence technology to enable AI systems to interpret non-verbal communication. The company builds its own models that analyze social signals across text, audio, and video in real time.
The latest model, Inter-2, is the first in a new family of products. It detects 12 social signals, including engagement, hesitation, and confusion, by analyzing facial expressions, tone of voice, body language, and behavioral cues like gaze and posture. The company reports that Inter-2 provides up to four times faster inference compared to previous versions.
The startup combines behavioral science with machine learning, utilizing data annotated by psychologists and behavioral scientists. To ensure transparency, the models are designed to be traceable, allowing users to understand the rationale behind specific assessments.
Interhuman AI provides its technology via an API for various sectors, including corporate training, digital health, and sales coaching. The company is currently GDPR-compliant and is undergoing security certification audits. It plans to release two additional models in October.
