Intel has officially integrated support for the Crescent Island Xe3P GPU architecture into its 2026Q3 Media Driver release. This development confirms that the new GPU generation will handle video acceleration tasks, including encoding, decoding, and processing, alongside its previously anticipated AI inferencing capabilities.

The Crescent Island hardware is designed as a 350 W air-cooled PCIe graphics card. It features 32 Xe3P cores, 256 XMX engines, and 32 MB of unified L2 cache. The standard configuration includes 160 GB of LPDDR5X memory, though Intel allows ODMs to increase this capacity to 480 GB of LPDDR5X memory for specific workstation requirements.

The new GPU architecture incorporates video standards such as AV1 decoding, aligning it with the capabilities found in the Panther Lake and Nova Lake integrated graphics platforms. Intel previously disclosed technical specifications for this hardware during the Hot Chips 2026 event.
