Intel has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Classiq, a provider of quantum computing software. The merger aims to combine Intel's silicon spin qubit manufacturing capabilities with Classiq's software platform to create a full-stack quantum computing solution.

The acquisition integrates Classiq's automated quantum algorithm synthesis platform with Intel's existing quantum software and hardware expertise. This move positions Intel to include quantum processing units alongside its current portfolio of CPUs, GPUs, and ASICs.

Intel intends to maintain Classiq's current multi-platform integrations, ensuring the software remains hardware-agnostic. The company plans to continue fostering an open and collaborative ecosystem for quantum software development.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Intel expects the deal to close in the first half of 2027, after which both companies will continue to operate as independent entities.
