CEO Lip-Bu Tan purchased 105,263 shares of Intel at $95 per share around August 11, 2026. This investment, totaling $10 million, increases his stake to approximately 1.3 million shares held through a family trust.

The transaction occurred alongside Intel's secondary equity offering, which raised $20 billion to $23 billion. These funds are earmarked for expanding the company's AI-focused chip manufacturing capabilities.

Intel's stock has risen between 270% and 315% over the past 12 months. The company reported a 25% year-on-year revenue increase to $16.1 billion in Q2 2026, surpassing consensus estimates.

Tan assumed the CEO position on March 18, 2025. His tenure has focused on cost-cutting and the mass production of the 18A node. Additionally, the US government has converted CHIPS Act funding into an equity stake in the firm.
