Injective, a Layer-1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK, has officially begun developing quantum-resistant infrastructure. The project confirmed the start of the work on October 12, 2026, following an initial announcement made on October 8.

The initiative follows mid-2026 evaluations that assessed the network's cryptography at 4 out of 100 for quantum readiness. Auditors identified vulnerabilities in the secp256k1 component, used for transaction signatures, and Ed25519, used for consensus.

The project has not yet provided technical specifications, a deployment timeline, or a formal governance proposal for the transition. Any changes to the core cryptography will likely require approval from INJ token holders.

A whitepaper released by the project on October 7, 2026, did not include plans for a post-quantum migration. Observers are now looking for updates to the document and specific details on the algorithms to be adopted.
