Samsung Display has supplied its latest M16 OLED panels to three flagship smartphone models: the iPhone Duo, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro, and the Galaxy S27 Ultra, as well as the iQOO 16.
According to industry analyst Ice Universe, the implementation of these panels varies significantly across the devices. The iPhone Duo utilizes a matte protective layer that negatively impacts transparency and overall image quality.
The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra models incorporate Privacy Display technology. This design choice results in compromised viewing angles and reduced image quality compared to the panel's native capabilities.
The iQOO 16 is currently the only device among the three that utilizes the M16 OLED panel without additional modifications. This allows the display to maintain its original performance in brightness, clarity, color accuracy, and viewing angles.
