The 2026 iFlytek Global 1024 Developer Festival kicked off on October 22, featuring dual venues in Beijing and Hefei. The event, themed 'Unleashing Productivity, Releasing Imagination,' serves as a platform for discussing the future of artificial intelligence.

Liu Qingfeng, Chairman of iFlytek, addressed the current state of domestic computing power during the main forum. He acknowledged that China currently trails global standards by approximately two generations, but expects this gap to narrow to one generation and eventually half a generation.

Regarding the domestic ecosystem, Liu noted that few companies have invested significant effort into large model training. However, he expressed confidence that more participants will soon engage in training and application development to ensure China achieves unique competitiveness and influence in the AI sector.

Liu also addressed broader concerns regarding the integration of carbon-based and silicon-based life forms. He emphasized that the industry must focus on autonomous, controllable platforms to foster collaboration across sectors such as education, healthcare, and the broader market.
