Hyundai Motor has supplied 11 COUNTY EV buses to support the first electric public transportation pilot project in Bali, Indonesia. The initiative, known as the Bali Sustainable Transportation System, is led by the Global Green Growth Institute in collaboration with the governments of South Korea and Indonesia.
The 8-meter mid-size buses feature 20 seats and are equipped with a 128kWh battery, providing a driving range exceeding 200 km per charge. Hyundai Motor provided the electric platforms, while the local manufacturer Laksana constructed the bus bodies.
To ensure operational success, Hyundai Motor is implementing a field quality assurance program. This includes a dedicated local situation room to monitor vehicle performance and quality as the buses enter service.
This project follows a previous delivery of 11 similar electric buses to Surabaya in November 2024. Hyundai Motor intends to leverage these deployments to expand its commercial electric vehicle business across Indonesia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
