Huawei has introduced the Watch D3, the third generation of its blood pressure-monitoring smartwatch. The device retains the core functionality of its predecessors, including the integrated inflatable cuff, while focusing on a more compact and lightweight design to address the bulkiness of previous models.
The watch features dimensions of 46.5 x 41 x 11.3 mm, making the chassis 2 mm thinner than the Watch D2. The weight has also been reduced, with the large strap option being 9 grams lighter and the small version 6.5 grams lighter. The device is equipped with a 1.92-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 x 408 pixels.
Running on Harmony OS 7.0, the Watch D3 functions as a comprehensive companion device. It supports notifications, music control, camera shutter control, and NFC payments via the FlipUp app. Users can install additional applications through the App Gallery within the Huawei Health app.
The health tracking suite includes blood pressure monitoring, heart rate, skin temperature, stress levels, blood oxygen, and vascular health analysis via ECG. The device allows for scheduled blood pressure measurements. Due to the internal pump and cuff mechanism, the watch lacks water resistance and is not suitable for swimming or showering.
Battery life typically ranges from 4 to 6 days under standard usage. However, frequent blood pressure monitoring throughout the day requires daily charging. The watch is constructed from an aluminum frame, glass, and a plastic back, and comes with either artificial leather or fluoroelastomer straps.
