Huawei is preparing to release a new color variant for its FreeClip 2 open-ear headphones. The upcoming design features a vibrant combination of red, yellow, and blue, departing from the standard single-color options previously available.
The device is equipped with Huawei's third-generation proprietary low-power chip, which integrates an NPU for AI processing, reportedly delivering a 10-fold increase in computing power. It also introduces the HarmonyOS AI assistant, enabling features such as head-tracking notifications, voice translation, and voice assistant activation.
The hardware includes a 10.8mm dual-diaphragm acoustic unit, which increases loudness and low-frequency output by 100%. The earbuds house a 60mAh battery, providing 9 hours of playback, while the 537mAh charging case extends total usage to 38 hours. A 10-minute charge provides 3 hours of playback.
Additional specifications include support for L2HC audio encoding, spatial audio with reduced latency, and NearLink technology for precise location tracking. The headphones are constructed from skin-friendly liquid silicone and memory metal, weighing 5.1g per ear with an IP57 dust and water resistance rating.
