He Gang from Huawei Terminal BG showcased the capabilities of the Ruiying Z10 modular camera by sharing photos taken in real-world conditions on Weibo. The device attaches to the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Collector's Edition via a dedicated Super Mount, securing with a distinct click.
Unlike standard teleconverters, the Z10 functions as an independent camera featuring a 1-inch sensor. The smartphone acts as a control interface for framing, image processing, and storage. The module includes a lens with an equivalent focal length of 24–240 mm and provides 10x continuous optical zoom.
Users can adjust the zoom level using a physical ring on the lens or through the smartphone screen. The camera supports XMAGE color profiles, such as German style, retro, and soft processing. Edited images can be shared directly from the smartphone interface.
Compatibility is currently limited to the Mate 90 Pro Max Collector's Edition and the Mate RS, as the standard Mate 90 lacks the necessary mounting hardware. Huawei has invited customers to test the device at official retail locations.
