At the 2026 Kirin Media Briefing held in Shanghai on October 13, Huawei introduced the Kirin 9050 series. This new platform marks the debut of the company's proprietary logic folding architecture and the Tao law, which aim to improve both performance and power efficiency.

The Kirin 9050 Pro features a new generation Da Vinci architecture NPU and a Lingxi micro-core. According to Huawei, these components deliver a 140 percent increase in AI performance while reducing power consumption by 66 percent compared to previous iterations.

A key highlight of the 9050 series is its capability to run a 30B MoE large language model directly on the device. The model utilizes 3B total parameters with 2B active parameters and requires less than 2.5GB of memory. The platform also supports 7B Dense and 1B VLM models.

Looking ahead, Huawei has outlined a 10-year development roadmap for the Kirin series. The company set a specific technical goal to achieve a P-core frequency exceeding 5GHz by 2031, signaling a long-term commitment to semiconductor performance growth.
