Huawei has unveiled the Ruiying Z10, an external camera module designed to expand the photographic capabilities of its upcoming smartphone series. The device functions as an independent unit rather than a simple lens attachment, featuring its own 1-inch CMOS sensor.
The module offers a physical focal length of 9.1–91 mm, which corresponds to 24–240 mm in full-frame terms. This setup enables a continuous optical zoom range from 1x to 10x, with an aperture range of f/2.0 to f/4.5 for improved performance at varying distances.
According to the official teaser, the accessory is intended for the Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition and the Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design models. Compatibility with other devices in the Mate 90 lineup remains unconfirmed at this time.
The company plans to officially present the Mate 90 series on October 1. Retail availability for the new smartphones and the accompanying photo kit is scheduled to begin immediately following the presentation event.
