Huawei has officially launched the public beta for its HarmonyOS PC development suite, including DevEco Studio, DevEco Code, and DevEco CLI. These tools are designed to streamline the entire application development lifecycle, from coding and debugging to deployment, specifically for HarmonyOS-powered computers.

The suite requires HarmonyOS 7.0.0.107 or higher, at least 16 GB of RAM, and 100 GB of free disk space. Supported devices include various MateBook models such as the MateBook Pro, MateBook Fold, and MatePad Edge. The tools are built on the BitFun platform, focusing on low resource consumption and fast startup times.

DevEco Studio now allows developers to debug applications directly on PCs without external simulators, supporting multi-window verification for different device form factors. It integrates DevEco Code, which offers AI-driven features like code generation, semantic analysis, and automated verification through specialized models like GLM5.3 and GLM5.1.

The DevEco CLI component provides command-line capabilities for automated workflows, including project initialization, syntax checking, and log management. It includes a knowledge base and over 70 professional skills to assist in tasks ranging from project creation to maintenance, aiming to improve code accuracy and development efficiency.
