Huawei is preparing to launch a new smartphone sub-brand called Starlight, known in China as Xingmang. The company plans to focus on online sales channels, positioning the devices as affordable products with high performance.
The development roadmap includes multiple models, one of which will feature an active cooling system with a built-in fan. The devices are expected to be powered by the company's proprietary Kirin 8-series and 9-series chipsets.
The new brand aims to bridge the gap between Huawei's existing budget Enjoy line and its premium Mate and Pura series. This strategy mirrors the early development model of Honor, which initially operated as an online-focused sub-brand.
The expansion is also intended to grow the user base for HarmonyOS. Currently, the number of devices running HarmonyOS 6 and HarmonyOS 7 has surpassed 90 million. Huawei has not yet provided an official confirmation regarding the launch of Starlight.
