Huawei has officially announced that its HarmonyOS 7 operating system now supports connectivity with Apple AirPods. This update, introduced by Huawei Terminal BG CEO He Gang on September 7, allows users to integrate various AirPods models with Huawei smartphones running HarmonyOS 7.0 or higher.

The list of supported devices includes the first generation through the latest models, such as AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 2, AirPods Pro 1, AirPods 1, AirPods Max, and AirPods 5. Users can now view connection alerts via the Live Window and monitor battery levels directly on their Huawei phones.

To check battery status, users can access the Bluetooth icon in the status bar or the device battery card on the negative screen. When the charging case is open, the system displays the charge levels for the left earbud, right earbud, and the case itself. These features are exclusive to Huawei smartphones updated to HarmonyOS 7.0 or later.

Other Huawei devices, such as tablets and PCs, currently support only standard Bluetooth audio functionality with AirPods. Additionally, automatic reconnection is not supported for non-Apple devices. Users must manually connect their AirPods through the Bluetooth settings menu on their Huawei smartphone to establish a link.
