Huawei has officially launched a public beta recruitment program for the HarmonyOS 7 update, targeting users of the Watch GT 6 and Fit 5 series smartwatches. The company has not yet released specific details regarding the new features included in this firmware version for these models.
Users with Huawei smartphones or tablets can register for the beta through the My Huawei or Service applications by navigating to the upgrade section. Owners of devices from other brands can participate by accessing the My Huawei mini-program on WeChat and selecting the corresponding product image under the featured activities tab.
While official release notes for the Watch GT 6 and Fit 5 are pending, previous updates for other models in the ecosystem introduced significant interface changes. These included new light and shadow effects for watch faces and task lists, along with expanded customization options for modular and geometric watch faces.
The update also brings enhanced health tracking features, such as the new Healthy Living application which adds dietary tracking to the existing Clover model. Additionally, the system now supports connections to advanced power meters and smart trainers, providing more comprehensive data for cycling training sessions.
