Huawei has reduced the price of its FreeClip 2 open-ear headphones on JD.com. Following a regional government subsidy, the cost of the device has dropped from the official retail price of ¥1299 to ¥978.
The new model features Huawei's third-generation low-power chip integrated with an NPU, which reportedly increases computing power tenfold. The headphones support the HarmonyOS AI assistant, enabling features such as head-tracking announcements, smart broadcasts, and real-time translation.
The hardware includes 10.8mm dual-diaphragm acoustic units, which the company claims provide a 100% increase in loudness and low-frequency power. The device is equipped with a 60mAh battery in each earbud and a 537mAh charging case, offering up to 38 hours of total playback time.
Design improvements include the use of skin-friendly liquid silicone and high-performance memory metal, increasing material flexibility by 25%. Each earbud weighs 5.1g and carries an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance.
