Huawei unveiled the RTN 5100 microwave solution at the Huawei Connect 2026 conference. This new generation system operates on the 5GHz public spectrum and doubles both transmission capacity and the number of supported site connections compared to the previous model.

The central station equipment provides a maximum throughput of 2 Gbps, split into two 1 Gbps channels, and supports up to 128 remote sites. The system allows for flexible networking configurations, including point-to-multipoint, point-to-point, and long-chain relay modes to handle 4K video and broadband traffic.

To ensure stable connectivity and prevent interference, the RTN 5100 utilizes the TDMA access mode. Data security is managed through AES256 and national encryption standards, while link redundancy features improve overall network resilience.

The solution is designed for sectors such as energy, oil and gas, and government infrastructure. Huawei emphasizes that the hardware offers low power consumption and simplified installation and maintenance processes for enterprise wireless backhaul requirements.
