Huawei has clarified the operational logic of its Qiankun ADS system in challenging driving scenarios. When encountering oncoming traffic on narrow roads, the system does not deactivate. Instead, it uses sensors like cameras and LiDAR to assess road width and distance to obstacles, while the WEWA 2.0 architecture plans a path to actively reverse and yield.

The Qiankun system also provides safety support even when the driver is in manual control. Through the CAS 5.0 collision prevention mechanism, the system monitors road boundaries and curvature. If it detects excessive speed on sharp mountain curves, it automatically reduces vehicle speed to prevent the car from leaving the road.

In scenarios with limited visibility, such as intersections or narrow residential entrances, the system uses multi-sensor fusion and the WEWA 2.0 architecture to identify hidden risks. It proactively slows down near construction barriers and uses automatic emergency braking (AEB) if it detects pedestrians or non-motorized vehicles suddenly entering the path.
