Huawei has launched the Mate 90 series in China, bypassing the traditional pre-order and reservation phases. The new lineup is available immediately through online stores, physical retail locations, and third-party vendors.
The series includes the standard Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition, and the RS Ultimate Design. Prices start at ¥6,000 for the base model, while the RS Ultimate Design with 16GB of RAM and 2TB of storage is priced at ¥19,000.
The devices feature a dual-tone rear panel with varying textures and the signature Star Ring camera module. The main camera utilizes a 50MP sensor with a 1/1.28-inch format and a physical variable aperture, complemented by a 200MP telephoto module and an optional 250mm teleconverter.
The smartphones are powered by new Kirin chipsets designed to run large AI models locally. According to Huawei, the updated architecture improves overall energy efficiency. The previous Mate 80 model reached monthly sales of over one million units in the months following its release.
