HTC has unveiled VIVEE, a pocket-sized AI companion device currently available for pre-order at $99.99. The gadget is designed to interact with users through touch, including petting, tapping, or rotating, and responds with various animations and sounds.
The device features an OLED screen and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC connectivity. It includes haptic feedback, IPX4 water resistance, and a battery capable of all-day operation. Physically, the unit measures 60x60x50 mm and weighs 114 grams.
Users can engage in conversations and play games with the device, which develops a unique personality over time. HTC also offers VIVEE Suits accessories that change the device's appearance and unlock specific UI expressions on the screen.
To address privacy concerns, the device is equipped with physical switches for both the microphone and the speaker. HTC has explicitly stated that user data collected by the device will not be utilized for training its AI models.
