Andrew Wheeler, director of HPE Labs, highlights that data sovereignty, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing are becoming primary business imperatives. Organizations are increasingly prioritizing local data processing and regional control to comply with evolving global privacy regulations, which have been adopted by over 170 countries.

HPE is developing infrastructure solutions that integrate cryptographic posture management to ensure compliance and resilience. The company is researching quantum networking, specifically quantum key distribution, to secure communications and enhance zero-trust networking architectures.

The company is also focusing on confidential computing to protect data in transit and during processing within CPUs, GPUs, and other accelerators. Existing security measures include controller-based encryption and self-encrypting drives to safeguard data at rest.

HPE participated in Project Glasswing, an initiative by Anthropic PBC that provided access to the Claude Mythos Preview model. This model, designed for software analysis and vulnerability identification, has helped HPE refine its internal design lifecycle and strengthen cybersecurity practices.
