Honor has unveiled the camera capabilities of its upcoming flagship, the Magic 9 Pro Max. The device features a dual 200-megapixel sensor system, comprising a primary module and a periscope lens. Both sensors were developed in partnership with the German cinematography equipment manufacturer ARRI.
The camera system supports ARRI LogC3 and 10-bit 4:2:2 APV video recording. For zoom capabilities, the phone utilizes two proprietary teleconverters: the G500, which provides a 5.88x optical zoom, and the G200, offering a 2.35x optical zoom. Sample photos demonstrate focal lengths of 100 mm and 500 mm.
The primary camera is equipped with mechanical gimbal stabilization, achieving a compensation angle of up to 3 degrees and CIPA 8.0 certification. The TrueShift system uses AI to analyze and predict motion up to 1000 times per second to minimize shake. The official launch in China is scheduled for September 28.
