The Hong Kong Generative AI Research Center (HKGAI) updated its local AI assistant, HKChat, on October 30. The application now features a new music generation tool powered by the proprietary YuE2 large model.
To create a song, users can hum a melody or upload an image while providing a text description of their musical concept. The system then generates an original track complete with professional arrangement and vocals.
The tool is accessible via the music button on the HKChat app homepage. HKGAI emphasizes that the feature is specifically optimized for Cantonese pop music, aiming to integrate AI with local culture.
Currently, the AI music generation function is available to all users free of charge. The developers intend to provide a platform that captures the distinct style and nuances of Cantonese songs.
