Observability firm groundcover Inc. has completed its first acquisition by purchasing Wand Cloud Ltd., a startup specializing in Kubernetes resource optimization. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. As part of the agreement, the founders and employees of Wand will join the groundcover team.
Wand’s technology automates scaling decisions for Kubernetes clusters by managing CPU and memory allocations in real time. Unlike standard autoscalers that operate independently, Wand integrates vertical, horizontal, and cluster-level scaling to optimize performance and availability while reducing infrastructure costs.
Groundcover plans to integrate Wand’s capabilities into its own platform to improve telemetry efficiency and offer resource optimization tools directly to its customers. The company aims to leverage this technology to advance its vision of autonomous infrastructure where software manages production systems.
Groundcover is a venture-backed company that has secured $160 million in total funding. This includes a $100 million Series C round led by One Peak in July. Other notable investors in the startup include Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, Zeev Ventures, Angular Ventures, Heavybit, and Jibe.
