Google has expanded its experimental AI app, Dreambeans, to India, marking its first international market. The service generates illustrated stories based on user data from connected Google apps, including Gmail, Calendar, Photos, Gemini, search history, and YouTube. It is available to users aged 18 and older on Android and iOS.

Launched in June 2026 via Google Labs, the app was initially limited to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US. By September, it opened to all eligible US users. The app supports English and 13 local Indian languages, though it currently cannot mix languages within a single story, which poses challenges for users who frequently use Hinglish.

Data from Sensor Tower indicates that Dreambeans reached approximately 55,000 downloads in the US since its June debut. While 63% of these occurred in September, October saw an 84% decline in new downloads compared to the previous month. The app is intended for personal Google accounts and does not support corporate accounts.

Users maintain control over their data by selecting which services to connect and can delete their information directly within the app. Feedback mechanisms allow users to hide specific topics or report errors, though these adjustments do not immediately remove existing content. Google is currently exploring ways to make the app more action-oriented.
