Google is testing a new feature in the latest Canary version of the Chrome browser that allows users to filter synchronized browsing history by specific devices. This update aims to improve how users manage their cross-platform activity.

To access this functionality, users must enable the experimental flag labeled Filter Browsing History By Device. The feature is currently being tested across multiple platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, ChromeOS, and Android.

The existing Chrome history system already supports cross-device synchronization, search capabilities, and date-based filtering. The new implementation adds a device-specific layer, allowing users to distinguish between history entries from phones, tablets, and laptops.

According to findings from Chromium code, the browser will now associate history records with specific device names and types. The interface for this filter is expected to be integrated as a dropdown menu within the history page.
