Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon stated that advancements in artificial intelligence will likely improve human health and increase life expectancy. He expects these demographic shifts to result in people remaining in the workforce for a longer duration.
Solomon emphasized that while AI development should prioritize innovation, companies must remain accountable for the consequences of these technologies. He suggested that both public and private sectors should collaborate to support workers if AI causes rapid labor force disruptions.
Regarding the US economy, Solomon noted that it showed resilience with strong employment and wage growth before the conflict in Iran. However, he warned that rising diesel prices and supply chain pressures could eventually impact consumer costs.
