In the third quarter of 2026, the global tablet market experienced a 23 percent year-over-year decline. Total shipments dropped from 41.8 million to 32.2 million units, marking the lowest figure in nearly three years, according to Omdia data.

Apple maintained its market leadership with 11.5 million iPad units shipped, representing a 36 percent market share. However, the company saw a 27.5 percent decrease in shipments compared to the same period in 2025, with its market share falling by 2.2 percentage points.

Samsung secured the second position with a 16.9 percent market share, followed by Lenovo at 12.7 percent, Xiaomi at 7.3 percent, and Huawei at 5.7 percent. Lenovo was the only top-five manufacturer to achieve growth, recording an 11.9 percent increase.

Huawei experienced the sharpest decline among major players at 43 percent, followed by Apple at 27.5 percent, Samsung at 21.7 percent, and Xiaomi at 10.6 percent. Analysts attribute the market slump to supply chain constraints that limit hardware innovation.
