Ghost, a startup founded by 19-year-old Zain Javaid, has emerged from stealth mode after securing $11 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Abstract, Audacious Ventures, SV Angel, and Nova. The founding team also includes Nicholas Chua, Yifei Chen, and Guatam Sharda.
The company’s debut product is Core, a specialized personal computer priced at $3,499. Designed specifically for AI agents, the device centralizes user data from desktops, applications, and smart home devices. It features an Nvidia RTX Pro 4000 SFF Blackwell GPU, which is included in the purchase price.
Core comes preinstalled with three AI models: Qwen-3.8-Next, Qwen-3.8-27B, and Gemma-4-31B. Users can also load models from Hugging Face or their own trained versions. The device operates locally, ensuring that personal data and model weights remain on the hardware rather than in the cloud, and includes a firewall to monitor network requests.
The hardware is built without a screen and is managed via a mobile app or voice commands. Ghost plans to provide over-the-air updates for models and software, similar to Tesla's approach. The units are currently manufactured at the company's facility in San Francisco, with pre-orders open and shipping scheduled for the last week of October.
