Geely is developing a new flagship vehicle specifically for the European market, currently identified by the project code KO11. The model is based on the Galaxy Starship 700 and is positioned to compete with the Land Rover Defender. It utilizes the same platform as the upcoming Lotus Eletre plug-in hybrid but focuses on off-road capabilities, including a wading depth of 800mm.
The company has decided to adjust its strategy to better align with local consumer preferences rather than simply importing existing brand models. Development of the vehicle is taking place at Geely's design center in Milan, with an official debut expected next year.
Geely is also updating its Flyme infotainment system for European users. The second generation of the software will feature multitasking, split-screen displays, and scalable widgets, moving away from the current design used in the Chinese market. Additionally, the company is refining its driver-assistance systems for the region.
