Caocao Mobility and Geely have completed the first engineering prototype of China's first natively developed Robotaxi. This milestone marks the transition of the project into the stage of vehicle verification for mass production solutions.

The vehicle was designed specifically for autonomous operations from the start. Development focused on vehicle architecture, cabin experience, operational performance, safety, and the full lifecycle of the service.

Geely Holding Group executive An Conghui confirmed in September that Caocao Mobility will transition to a battery-swapping model. The new Robotaxi will also utilize this technology, with plans for a full-scale commercial launch.

The prototype, known as the Geely Eva Cab, was first unveiled in April. According to the current roadmap, the customized version of the Eva Cab is scheduled to enter mass production by 2027.
