At the 2026 Chery Global Innovation Conference, the company detailed its roadmap for the Xunlong fast-charging technology. First introduced in March, the system allows a vehicle to gain 500 kilometers of range in 5 minutes, or charge from 10% to 97% in 6 minutes and 50 seconds.

The technology incorporates flexible high-temperature superconducting cable systems. These cables utilize a compact superconducting spiral structure, full-link heat leakage management, and liquid nitrogen constant temperature control to achieve high current capacity with zero loss and reduced weight.

Chery plans to expand its network of fast-charging stations to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hefei, and Wuhu by the end of this year. The company aims to establish a global presence with 20 000 charging stations by 2029 to support its charging ecosystem.

Regarding V2G vehicle-to-grid integration, Chery announced that the Fengyun A9 electric model will be the first to feature this technology in the first half of 2027. The company intends to drive large-scale commercial adoption of V2G scenarios.

Official demonstrations showed that the Fengyun A9 can discharge 24 kWh of electricity, generating 39 yuan in revenue. Based on these figures, the potential earnings for users exceed 1 yuan per kilowatt-hour.
