Crypto exchange Gate is expanding its platform to allow users to trade stocks directly using digital assets like USDT. The company aims to position itself as a one-stop shop for financial management, enabling investors to access global equities without moving funds to traditional brokerage accounts.
In August 2026, Gate launched trading for approximately 300 Tokyo-listed stocks. Currently, the platform provides access to over 12,800 stocks across markets in the US, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan. This integration allows users to fund stock purchases directly with stablecoins.
The exchange is also diversifying into new blockchains and prediction markets. It integrated the Robinhood Chain in July 2026 and added Arc support in September. According to CoinGecko, the Robinhood Chain generated over $88.9 billion in trading volume between its launch and the end of Q3 2026.
Gate is developing Gate Money, a service designed to combine fiat currencies, crypto, and stocks into a single account. This initiative includes features for on-ramp and off-ramp transfers, card spending, and yield on idle balances to improve liquidity management for users.
The strategy follows a trend of declining spot trading volumes at major centralized exchanges, which fell 14.2% in Q3 2026 according to CoinGecko. By offering broader investment options, Gate seeks to retain user capital within its ecosystem regardless of crypto market volatility.
