Munich-based software startup Furo has secured €3.44 million in a funding round led by TQ Ventures. The round also included investments from Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, Neo, and CDTM Venture Capital. The company, originally founded in 2025 as Lumera Energy by Lena Sophia Voss, Leonie Wagner, and Simon Wittner, rebranded in May 2026.
Furo provides a software platform designed to control and optimize commercial and industrial battery storage systems. By forecasting electricity prices and weather conditions up to 48 hours in advance, the software manages storage operations in real time. This approach allows users to market unused capacity in energy trading and aims to reduce electricity costs by up to 40 percent.
The platform is currently utilized by over 800 companies across more than 6,000 sites throughout Germany and Europe. Furo distributes its technology through a network of installers, project developers, storage manufacturers, and utilities rather than selling directly to end customers. The software is designed to address price volatility in power markets caused by renewable energy expansion.
The startup recently entered into a partnership with Berlin-based LUOX Energy, a brand of Lumenaza GmbH, to offer a combined solution for battery storage optimization. According to Furo, inflexible energy demand currently costs industrial companies an estimated $580 billion annually worldwide. The company aims to mitigate these costs by replacing rigid, pre-programmed storage rules.
