The Fotorgear Campix digital camera has launched on Kickstarter, aiming to replicate the analog film experience. The device weighs 192g and features a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 CMOS sensor with a 1/3.06-inch size. It comes with a 26mm f/2.2 equivalent wide-angle lens and a waist-level viewfinder.
The camera is limited to 36 shots per session, requiring users to process the digital film via a mobile app before continuing. It supports interchangeable lenses, including 8mm, 16mm, 60mm, 75mm macro, and 1.55x anamorphic options. The unit also includes a built-in xenon flash with GN7 rating, automatic ISO, and TTL metering.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and USB-C, allowing the camera to operate independently without a constant smartphone connection. The device is currently available in several crowdfunding tiers, ranging from $109 for the base kit to $359 for the full bundle with additional lenses and filters.
Shipments for the project are currently scheduled to begin in January 2027. As the product is in the crowdfunding stage, the manufacturer notes that delivery timelines and final product specifications remain subject to change.
