Users installing Windows 11 on the Honor MagicBook X16 AMD 2025 (GOH-X, SKU C170) often encounter a missing Wi-Fi driver issue. The laptop utilizes a MediaTek MT7920 Wi-Fi 6 module, which is not automatically recognized by the OS, and the official driver provided by Honor may fail to install correctly.
To bypass the mandatory network connection during Windows 11 setup, users can open the command prompt by pressing Shift+F10 and executing the command OOBE\BYPASSNRO. This allows for the creation of a local user account without an internet connection.
A functional driver, version 3.4.0.1281, can be obtained by connecting an Android phone via USB tethering to allow Windows to download it automatically, or by manually installing the driver exported from a working system. The driver files are available on GitHub.
The author suggests that the official driver package from Honor might contain errors in the INF file or incorrect Hardware ID mapping for the PCIe-based Wi-Fi component, as the Bluetooth part of the same module connects via USB and installs without issues.
