FireMon LLC has introduced FireMon Agentic AI, a platform designed to automate the manual processes involved in firewall policy changes. The system uses AI agents to perform investigation and planning tasks, while leaving final decisions that require organizational judgment to human practitioners.
The platform includes three proprietary agents: the Intelligent Agent for policy queries, the Network Designer Agent for rule recommendations, and the Policy Change Designer Agent, which manages access requests from discovery to staged changes. Users can also customize these agents or build new ones.
A new Model Context Protocol server allows external applications to access policy data and trigger staged changes. Security is maintained through defined roles and credentials, and all activity is recorded in an audit trail. AI features are optional and disabled by default.
Customers can choose their preferred large language models, including those hosted in their own environments. FireMon, founded in 2004 and based in Lenexa, Kansas, currently serves over 1,800 enterprise clients across more than 70 countries.
The new AI tools and the MCP server are scheduled for release in November. FireMon confirmed that there will be no additional charges for the initial launch of these capabilities.
