Mozilla has updated its Smart Window AI features for the Firefox desktop browser, introducing automated form filling and webpage monitoring capabilities. The form-filling tool extracts data from open tabs, such as LinkedIn profiles or portfolios, to populate job applications. It currently supports text fields, with plans to add PDF and dropdown menu support soon.

The system utilizes the Google Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite model to process information and generate suggestions. Users can trigger the process by selecting the 'Fill from sources' option when a form contains at least four text fields. The browser allows users to manually select or exclude specific tabs to ensure data accuracy during the automated entry process.

The new monitoring feature allows users to track website updates, such as job postings or price changes, by using the '/watch' command in the Smart Window chat. Firefox checks for updates daily or weekly while the browser is active. Notifications appear on the 'Tasks' button or via system alerts when changes are detected.

The monitoring tool includes an automatic expiration policy: tracking pauses after 60 days of inactivity and terminates completely after 90 days. These features are currently available in the Firefox beta version for users in the United States and Canada. A broader rollout to other regions is scheduled for the coming months.
